We enjoyed our stay. The house is beautiful. The pool/spa was amazing. The deck was amazing for morning meditation. The sun rise every morning after Elsa was worth it and the rain. The view from the bed was better then anything. The kinds stay on this side of the house. It was in heaven. Thank you for your amazing home!
We would love to come back.

Affectueusement!

Thank you for a beautiful home to stay in this week. We had a lot of fun relaxing, playing in the pool & fishing from the dock. I think we caught the same fish 3 x !
Thanks for all your suggestions. One of the best we found to eat-

Being that we also live in South Florida, this destination is not new to us. However, this week in Cape Coral was wonderful and the house was AMAZING!
The home was big and welcoming, and the features were great! We rented a boat which worked out perfectly. We highly recommend going to Sanibel Island! Although, chilling by the pool is where it’s at!
We have teens and that could be hard sometimes for vocation but this house was fabulous to the kinds and they loved it so much!
Thank you owners!

A lovely house and stunning location. Us Brits know nothing like this level of luxury. We saw some delicious looking dolphins in the canals and the fishing locations are to die for.
Thanks a lot!
Until next time… 😊

Dear owners
Thank you once again for sharing your villa with us and our son Steve, Vanessa, Jacob and Lily.
You have thought of everything that anyone could possibly need here. It was difficult getting Jacob (9) and Lily (7) to leave the villa as they loved the pool so much and also leant to fish from the dock. The biggest and finest catch was a Pomparo (4-5lbs)
Steve & Vanessa loved the view from the lani and the weather of course. Places we enjoyed eating at were:
-Rib City – beat ribs in the world according to Jacob
-Pinchers- especially loved the mahi mahi and shrimp angel hair pasta
-Ceno Grill for excellent homecooked lasagne and chicken pasta
-Cape creamery next door to Ceno for ice cream
-Ice Scream
The children also loved Rotary Park playground
PS: The only thing we lacked was a bedside table and lamps for reading.
Owner’s comment:
Thank you for the comment. We just install two reading lamps on the bed head for your next stay.

Dear owners
What a surprising, luxury house!
We, a family of 5 with 3 ground-up kids, enjoyed our stay in your beautiful house and in the area of Cape Coral. Specially the amazing sunrise and sunset gave us much pleasure while we watched from the dock. The Spa & pool were pleasantly relaxing after a day kayaking in the J.N. Dining Docking parc and the visit to the Everglades.
Thank you for sharing this special house.
Kind regards

Shropshire, England
We have had a wonderful time in this lovely home and Cape Coral area.
The weather has been very good and, of course, very warm. Had a hire car for the 3 weeks we stayed and toured the area. Loved sitting by the pool in the evening eating our evening meal with a nice glass of wine.
Found the air conditioning a little cold but did not alter it as requested. Perhaps a safe could be installed to keep money & Jewellery extra safe, etc. We recognize this is a very safe area.
Would love to come back. Had to put back our holiday for about a week, due to hurricane Irma, glad the damage was not so bad as in other areas.
Thank you.

Another amazing stay at the Island House villa.
So much to explore but Captiva Island wears its name well… Fort Myers beach is different – more tourists/Jet Ski rentals, etc.
Be prepared as not all beaches have restaurants, etc.
Prepare a bag with water/drinks – bring sunscreen + 2 umbrellas. It gets hot out there. Snacks, etc.
Miraomar Outlets are a bit far but worthed.
Thanh-you so much for the beautiful memories & the much-needed rest.

We have had a fabulous week in Island House. An extremely well equipped holiday home. Lots of R+R (rest and recuperation) and fun!
Only one regret: that we were here for only one week; but much needed after the hype of Orlando theme park.
Highlight, an encounter with a manatee whilst kayaking at Pine Island. Wow! J
Would recommend Banana Boat Company, set off from behind Rum Runner’s (minutes away from the villa) for dolphin encounter and some eco information. JR (captain) and Andy (1st mate) were great company.
Thanks for your hospitality.

WOW!
Merci mille fois!

Knight, Hordsworth & Muir Party (Stratford, United Kingdom)
Enjoyed a wonderful two weeks here at Island House. It was our second visit to Cape Coral. We loved it so much last year that we choose to bring both set of parents with us this time! The house was spacious enough for each of the adult couples to have privacy and space to relax – I’d imagine it would also perfectly suit a family with young children.
The ‘boys’ of our party are big fans of fishing so they spent many hours on the deck with a lane in the line in the water… Caught catfish, snapper and even a massive sheeps head from the back. They also enjoyed fishing from the main pier by the town beach/yacht club – clearly the place to be for local Cape Coral-ites. Fantastic camaraderie & brag amongst the fishermen.
We ate out on a number of occasions and can recommend Rumrunners, the Joint (located at Cape Harbor), Lobster Lady (on Cape Coral pky), Rib City (next to Sweetbay Supermarket on Cape Coral pky – (delicious ribs!) On the mainland it’s worth visiting the Island Cow in Sanibel for a tasty lunch, and the Lazy Flamingo (live music on Thursday nights) on McGregor for some laid back eats.
Most of the trip was spent relaxing and fishing however we did have a couple of day at Tarpon Bay Beach (Sanibel) and at Barefoot Beach (Bonita Springs). We also rented a boat with Cape Coral Boat Rentals (great service!) and popped on to the idyllic Cayo Costa – a must do if you have a spare day.
Overall, a brilliant trip. Will definitely recommend Island House (& rest of Secret Places’ proprieties, a fantastic company to work with.) Thank you for allowing us access to your beautiful home!
Few comments: lots of red paper wasp nests in furniture on the deck could do with being removed…Also hand whisk in the kitchen cupboard doesn’t work and beach umbrella in garage seen better and doesn’t stay up. All minor but worth mentioning.
Truly wonderful holidays in a beautiful location – Thank you for letting us stay – Perfect!
March 2013
Kent & Val Jaffrey (London, England)
Lovely months long stay in this excellent house, so well equipped and comfortable. We have had regular visits from the manatees –right on the dock and a burrowing owl nesting nearby.
Fishing not great this year as water is unseasonably cold (this year all our US). If you like Italian food try “Little Sicily” on Cape Coral pky; small family restaurant. (Bring your own wine) and Wednesday at Bonefish Grill Pine Island Road for “Bang bang shrimp”.
Thanks also to the Secret Places team for their excellent service.
December 2012
Howest & Moohouse Family (England)
We have all loved our stay in the wonderful Island House. The facilities are excellent; we loved the washing machine compared to our British ones! The kitchen was well equipped which made life easier. We all love the pool and the deck although we were plagued by hornets when sunbathing. The pool temperature could have been warmer as we haven’t had the best weather during our stay. We enjoyed a boat trips out to Rumrunners and where all pleased that we managed to see wild dolphins! Have also had many successful shopping trips, good food out and some great BBQ, here.
Helpful suggestions: check deck chairs for hornet’s nests. Perhaps provide a small welcome pack for people that arrive early hours e.g. milk/tea/coffee.
Owner’s comment: Thank you for suggestions.

Anzini-Baroni Family – 2nd stay (Canada)
When our GPS said “arriving”; we felt like we were “Home”. We landed in Orlando, did the Disney Parks and couldn’t wait to see the Island House again. As beautiful as ever, it is great to be in a familiar surrounding while discovering new things, areas and secret places.
The weather was fantastic!!! Unbelievable! Tried many beaches- our favorite; Captiva Island’s Bowman’s Beach on Bowman’s Road.
Paesano’s has the best sliced prosciutto –Publix made us discover different products – Be daring.
You must go to mini golf – Smuggler’s Cove – We had a blast – if you go at night, bring mosquito spray and elastic J “Best time ever had all vacation”- Maya (10 years)
We also went to Captain Doug’s to see the crocodiles and the raccoons on a boat – Unbelievable!
Kids were amazed – Bring a lunch- not many options out there if you are off seasons.
Thanks once again for an amazing vocation!

Thank you so much for a fantastic holiday in a lovely house. We have all been extremely comfortable here, and have loved the easy access to the water! The weather has been wonderful! Though we were all quite relieved to get back into the air-conditioning after a day on our boat! The pool was great, and everyone got in at least once!
Thank you again for the wonderful house and I don’t think anyone really wants to leave!
I thank you too. This was one of the best holidays my entire life. The beds are fantastic and comfortable. It was just perfect for the Hubbard family. I loved the pool, boat and the sitting room. We will all miss the fantastic weather and the wonderful house. I hope we will come back again, soon.
I also loved the spa, and the temperature of the pool, when you get out of the Spa. The shops near here are good too. Hope we come again!
Thank you!

The Ludman Family (Wokingham England)
Our first visit to the Keys ended whit a fantastic first impression. We had great weather and lots to do – what more can you ask for. Love the house, everything you need, house is very well equipped. The kids appreciated the sun toys that were left in the garage. Also appreciated the fishing rods – caught Catfish and Crab from the dock. We have left a bit of extra things in the garage for anyone else to use.
Highly recommended ‘Cape Coral Boat Rental’. They are by RumRunners and were really helpful. We hired the boat for 10 days and had a brilliant time. Once we got our heads around the intercostals regulations, there was no shopping for us.
Cabbage Key is a must and so are the beaches at Captiva. If you’re not much for hire or just want to get used to the boat, go to ‘Picnic Island’. The kids were blow away when they saw Dolphins, Manatees and Giant Rays on the days out on the boat. Sea Hudes and Pelicans, also very impressive. Our kids are quite young (4, 7) and they really enjoyed ‘Sun Splash’ and ‘Naples Zoo’, other than that they spent lot of their time in the pool – loved it.
All in all, a great holiday. Love the Keys, love Florida. No doubt we will come back!

Quelle belle vacance!

Hi, here again, after spending a week in the Keys. As usual, enjoyed ourselves, love this house!
Hire a boat, caught Snooper, bits of Catfish, and a Hammerhead Shark!
Weather has been kind to us, even got in the 90’s.
Food wise, still like RumRunners and Market 92 at Tarpon Point. Visited the Nauti Mermaid at Tarpon Point at happy hours – they know how to make excellent cocktails.
Have purchased 2 more beach chairs, left them in the garage.
Thank you again for letting us share your lovely home and surrounding.
Needless to say, we will be back!

Keith & Margaret Romsbotton (Lancashire England)
Hi again! Our 3rd visit. It’s now just like coming home, albeit with much better weather, which has been great, hot & sunny. Posed myself at the dock this time. (new house being build over the water!) but plan B was lovely, visited Sanibel beaches, our favorite was Gulf State Park, never busy, it’s worth a call in to The Info Center, just over the causeway, very helpful, info maps etc... Also Bowditch beach, Fort Myers, facing pier, turn right to the end, follow beach right around (also quiet).
Our favorite Restaurant, still RumRunners, lovely specials, some night: live band opposite at The Joint, gets very busy but good to.
Listen with a glass of wine, lots of dolphins to be seen, take a trip jam. Tarpon Point Marina on Sundays 10:15 – noon on Silver King boat. Also of course, manage to visit shops, Miromar Outlets, Coconut Point. Also visited Naples nice beach, lovely shopping, restaurants down 5th Ave.
Thank you, once again, we have had a truly lovely time; will be back after a visit to the Keys in Mai 2011!
Best wishes to you all!
September 2010
Thomas Family (Helensbourgh, Edinburgh, Otterham UK)
Night visit to Florida – first in Cape Coral.
Villa was very clean on arrival with lots of plus points – plenty of towels, beach towels, and items of kitchen items.
As mentioned by other visitors, foliage around outside of pool area could be tidied. We did wonder why the gardeners clipped the beautiful purple flower from the side hedge but did nothing to tidy away or cut down the dead palm leaves. Also the Kiki hut is in need of repair/renewal to the roof and the frayed and damaged ropes round the dock area could be replaced or renovated all together. Have stayed in villa where the pool and spa were much warmer, so disappointed that we were unable to use the pool spa at night for a relaxing drink. Wondered if the payment for pool heating was worth it. Almost paradise and we had a lovely time visiting Sanibel, Miami, The Everglade. Bought beach parasol as not provided – the next visitors can use them.
Owner’s comment:
Thanks for your comments; this is the only way to truly understand visitor’s experience in their stay. We are doing our best to fix issues and elevate the quality of your vacation.
The Kiki roof was replaced and the rope around the deck have been replaced (2010-11).
Pool heater was working to spec but a new Hi performance Pool heater was installed to speed up the time it take to get to the right temperature; it is also much quieter! (2010-11).
New gardeners have been hired. Palm trees in the pool area have been replaced by plants (2011-11).
Not mentioned in your comments the house air conditioning used to freeze when doors are left open; then the ice in the main unit stopped the cool air flow; the main unit was replaced by newer model hopping to contain this situation. The best solution is still to keep the doors closed when the air conditioning is on. (2011-11)
Thank for equipment left for next visitors!
July 2010
The Allen’s (Derbyshire UK)
We have had a brilliant time. Having stayed in Florida many times, this is one of the nicest villas in a great location. Temperature in the mid 90’s, tropical depression ‘Bonnie’ swept by unnoticed!
Best restaurant: Marker 92.
Saw wild dolphins, a manatee and its calf ... Amazing!
A few suggested improvements:
Foliage around the pool is need of pruning.
Cutlery in kitchen needs replacing.
Beach chairs, umbrella, ice packs etc.. would be a bonus.
Thanks!
July 2010
Mani, Ria, Athina & Anthi Tzinevrakis (Mont-Royal, Quebec, Canada)
What can we say? This was our 1st time in Florida, but definitely won’t be our last. Wondering how any future stays can ever top this one. Your villa was like a dream come true! This had to be the first time we ever stayed anywhere on vacation where we felt at home. The attention to detail and careful planning of every part of the place screams of ‘JPT’. Amassing pool area with no bugs, Jacuzzi, fans everywhere, awesome sunset, private dock/deck, loved all the switches.
Sanibel/Captiva & Fort Myers beaches. Paesano’s Market (v. nice). Seashell Museum & seashells everywhere we turned was impressive. The shopping was crazy, Miromar, Tanger, Edison Mall, ...
Thank you so much for opening your home to us.
May 2010
Dinsmore’s, Irwin & Pidgeon’s (Portsmouth England)
Had fantastic time in this lovely villa. Weather fantastic, sunny and 90+ everyday.
Recommended Outback for dinner on NE Pine Island Road. Fishing great, best time to catch is sunrise and sunset using shrimp and lire’s (especially a popper). Bait shop on Chiquita Blvd. (up Cape Coral Pkwy and turn left into Chiquita).
Kids loved the pool, mom loved sitting on dock in sunshine!
April 2010
Romsbottom Family (Lancashire England)
Our 2nd visit, just as wonderful. A really relaxing hose & surrounding. Weather is hot & sunny. Hired a boat & caught trout & then BBQ’d. Also hired kayaks (double $45) from Tarpon Point Marina (end of Pelican Dr.) & did Mangrove Trail for 2 hrs – peaceful, lovely – worth a go. As usual, excellent food to be found – Morettis on Matlache, book a table next to water outside & watch the sunset, very beautiful & relaxing, especially with wine in hand, they do lovely fish specials too. Rumrunner’s that bit special food & wine, everything done with an unusual twist – our favorite place tested (and relaxed atmosphere &good Crab legs. Coconut Point Shopping, good park at top - walk down Fashion Dr. (Dillard at the end). Must visit Bell Tower Shops & stop at the Fresh Market for food for BBQ’s & lunch – enormous range of fresh fish & meat etc.. Needless to say, we will be back.
Thank you again – Had a Ball! – With our very best wished!
April 2010
Canetti’s & Grannu Wood (S. Yorkshire England)
Visited for the 2nd time. Had lovely (Windy) weather, 80’s + whole fortnight except Sunday (and for English peoples, never seen so much rain in a short time). Hired a boat for first week and socked up the sun for the rest. Will miss the sunbathing and the sun. Hope to get home as the whole of UK + Europe airport closed down due to the Icelandic volcano.
See you all soon!

The McNelis Family (Niagara Canada)
Spent a lovely vacation in your beautiful home. We were stunned by the spacious ?ness & delighted with the lanai door opening & increasing the area.
The weather was a bit cool but it was warmer than the Niagara area where we come from. We will miss the pool & spa & the boat traffic that added to the ambience.
Hope to visit again soon.

Isles Family
Second year in this wonderful house and yet again has scored a 10/10, especially with the children as they loved to go out fishing on the boat and enjoy paradise. We are out quite a lot of the time but our favorite was a seafood restaurant located in Bonita Spring called ‘The Big Hickory Fishing Nook’. It was quite a drive away but was 100% worth, it food and service was fab.
As we have a teenage daughter who always wants to be shopping, we discovered from 2 years of experiences that ‘Miromar Outlets’ and ‘Coconut Point’ were the best
And last of all, the best radio station: ‘Radio Bob 102.9 FM’.
Many thanks for letting us stay in your paradise home.
June 2009
McGregor Family
Great holiday. The boat trip or boat hire is highly recommended. The ‘Outback Steakhouse’, on the US41 is the best place to eat! Fort Myers beach is the best place to be, and make sure you check out the ‘Segway tours’! Best experience ever!
Best regards to you all!

Lovatt Family (Netherlands England)
We had a wonderful family stay with our 99 year old grandmother who now lives in Florida and her great grandson (8 months) all the way from England. Loved sitting by the water side with our sun dowset.
Lovely home, perfect for a baby and everything an adult would need too. We will miss the pool and the tranquility of the surrounding.
If you like Shark fishing, try `Sea Quest` at the Marina under the big bridge just before North Fort Myers... Good boat (43’), know their business, competitive price,... we cough 6 on night time trip, including one 8’ shark.
May 2009
Romsbottom Family (Lancashire England)
Our 18th visit to Florida – 3rd to Cape Coral, this is the most beautiful home we have stayed in. I will be forever dreaming of palm trees! Lovely decor! Perhaps as well it is our 3rd visit as we didn’t get as much exploring done as intended. Couldn’t drag myself away from the dock! Weather great except for some magnificent Thunder Storm in the last 2 days.
Do visit Shrimps Shack for the Crab legs; delicious (unfortunately, they only sell wine by the glass!) Best lobster ever at Houllihons (think they only have it Fri/Sat).
Thank you for allowing us to share your home and as Florida is a yearly destination, I’m sure we will be back.
Just a note, not a critism, an observation, a couple of beach chairs and a beach trolley would have been useful.
Best regard to you all!

The Ruekrnient’P & Lawhonis Family (Ohio, USA)
We swam, we ate, we fished, we sunbathed, we relaxed, WE HAD A GREAT TIME!!
The house is absolutely beautiful. We arrived on Saturday, after two long days in the car from Ohio. The weather was the 90’s all week. We visited Ft. Myers beach for a few hours and saw a sign for dolphin tour on jet skis! We really thought about it but decided to go for it. We got to the beach at 9:30 and got on jet skis and got to be in the Gulf of Mexico. The kids were loving it but had no idea we were looking for dolphins. We saw dolphins, a sling ray and a MANATEE. It was worth the $95 per Jet Ski.
Cape Coral, Florida is great and we had a great time. Now heading back to Ohio (Cold, raining). We want take the heat and palm trees with us!
Thanks so much!

Baroni Family – Happy New Year
What a way to take a break from winter in Montreal... Loved the house – We felt at home from day 1. It’s gorgeous – has everything you need + more.
The kids loved the Sea Room + I am going to miss the Master bedroom – I know it!
A lot to do as a family:
Bush Garden – saw a white peacock!!!
All the beaches + shells at Sanibel/Captiva. The museum was great. (Shell Museum)
Imaginariun was fun too – On a cold day.
Shopping – All the outlets .
The Everglades Gardens were amazing – Saw Alligators, Crocs, Bob Cats + didn’t have to go to the Everglades...
‘Total Wine’ is a shop to visit on day 1, so that you can stock up .
You have to rent a boat – You would be missing way too much if you didn’t... Dolphins!!!
Enjoy, be safe. To the owner: thanks from the bottom of my hart!

We all had a fantastic stay. The villa was great! And a lovely pool. It was amazing to be on the waterways. And the boat we hired made it
Many Thanks!

We couldn’t have asked for anything better. The hose is lovely and has everything you could ask for. We probably have missed out on some of the surrounding amenities, but we have been quite content to relax and ‘de-stress’ in the pool area.
Altogether a great holiday!

Great villa, fabulous location. We had a very relaxing week in this stunning place. Almost perfect weather. Tried catching the fish from the doc with little success. There we found out on our last night that they’re vegetarian and didn’t fancy our prawns!
Only fault – the ice machine in the freezer is not working (reported, but waiting for part?).
Best restaurant by far for fish (+ other food/cocktails) was Red’s on Pine Island. Will be back and would love to buy the plot of land next door!!

From the time we opened the door to the time we had to leave, we enjoyed your home. Thank you. We loved the location and the neighbourhood.
It was awesome to watch the lunar eclipse from the docs. We also got to enjoy the cull moon from the pool. The only thing we would change, if possible; is to stat longer. May be next year
Thank you and God Bless.

The Island House was just wonderful. We have had a good time. This is our third visit to Cape Coral, and have stayed in and around the area. We like to fish and go out on to the gulf (fishing not so good this year); nice to go on the boat to Rumrunners for cocktail. We have had a very relaxing time in this house, the only thing we hated was the pool alarms, as our children are 11-16 years, it a shame they cannot be turned off, when we were BBQing, they were most annoying.
Thought, the rooms were very comfortable, very nicely furnished.
Owner’s comment: The child pool alarm is a children safety feature that can be unplug (in the walking of the master bed room) at your own risk, if there is no children in the house!

Had a fab time in this lovely villa, despite some slightly stodgy weather and man-eating mosquitoes! Hired a boat for week one, from Cape Coral Boat Rentals –broke down a few time! But, was great for getting around and had great lunched at Matanzas on Estero Island, Green Flash on Captiva, Parrot Key at Salty Sam’s Marina and Dot’s diner at Sanibel Harbor. Top tip for dinner and cocktail: Rumrunner & The Joint at the marina. The Ford`s Garage is a great dining room by the way.
We have left some additional pool toys; so, enjoy!

The villa is a well appointed House with all the amenities for a comfortable stay. Really appreciated the small extras such as: kitchen foil, cling film etc..., salt and pepper etc..., washing liquid; these small things made quite a difference.
The view from the main bedrooms and the lanai across the canal at daybreak were simply stunning. The dock makes an ideal spot to sunbathe at this time of the year and an easy mooring even for a large craft (more than 20ft of water); we had a Regal 24ft cruiser for a week and visited Sanibel & Captiva Islands, making sure we called at Rumrunners for an afternoon cocktail, which became a daily ritual. We ate there on Xmass eve and New Year’s eve and can recommend the food, also ate at the Steak House at Ariani’s Italian restaurant, all very good.
We would recommend this villa to our friends and thank the owner for the detail put into the furnishing of the villa. Thank you, we had fantastic weather for the first 10 days but since New Year’s Day, it remained cloudy and rather cool, and according to the local policeman we met, the cool weather was unseasonal.

Our stay in your house provided a memorable pleasant visit to Cape Coral.
The amenities here are as perfect as one can expect for an unplanned vacation.
The bells and whistles are not as obnoxious as have been presented in the literature. With kids, it’s the first time we were able to have them close the door behind them. Maybe it can be an innovation in our residence.
While you had nothing to do with it, the weather was perfect.
Thank you for letting us uses your facility.
This house has been the most wonderful out of all the beach houses have stayed in over the past Christmas breaks!
Thank you for a wonderful break!

This was our first time to Cape Coral and on the basis of showing your lovely house; it won’t be the last time here.
From the moment we opened up the front door and we viewed the beautiful huge area, the fantastic array of patio doors leading to the pool and the water simply took over breath away. We know we would enjoy our stay here very mush, as we did.
Your choice of furnishing and layout added to our relaxation. What a beautiful place you have. So quiet a part from the sound of the road.
Thank you for letting us spend time at ‘Island House’..
